Pansy was a lover of nature, art, and animals, particularly
dogs
and horses, making her one of America´s leading sportswomen. She
excelled in foxhunting, shooting, polo, and showing hunters. In
1929, she won the national hunter championship at Madison Square Garden in
New York. She also successfully raised and raced Thoroughbreds.

The Big Room includes a wildlife mural
painted by notable artist Clinton Shepherd.
There
are many Audubon prints throughout the main house, as well as galleries of
works of other renowned American and British artists. Of special
interest are the many fine horse and hound paintings.
