Pebble Hill's Family & Friends Day

The Family & Friends Day, Sunday, October 16th from 2:00pm until 6:00 pm, is an afternoon of family fun on the grounds. Bring your Family and Friends to Pebble Hill for an afternoon of Fine, Fabulous, Fantastic, Flamboyant, FUN. . . and the best part - it’s FREE? Yes sirree, it’s FREE! [ Please note: Normally, Pebble Hill's Main Gate opens at 12:00 pm, but for this event, the Main Gate will not open until 1:30 pm. ]

Tour the Main House and see our beautiful New Gallery. Small children are even welcome in the Main House on Pebble Hill Day as long as an adult carries them or holds their hand (no strollers please).

Nationally acclaimed storyteller, comedian, musician, songwriter, whistler, and humorist Andy Offutt Irwin will be on hand with a bit of down-home family entertainment. You remember Andy; he was the hit at the Thomasville Library’s spring series last year.

Pebble Hill’s recently restored collection of antique carriages will make their first official début. One special carriage will be set aside as a photo op so bring your camera!

The refurbished 1920s chemical fire engine also will be ready for inspection. Plus, our magnificent horses will be out and about making friends and garnering pats and praise.

Members of the Tallahassee Watercolor Society will be out on the grounds painting, and you are invited to look over their shoulders.

Thomas University Professor of Art, Rich Curtis, invites you to “Stump the Artist.” Request an object, and Rick will draw it in just 2 minutes. That’s correct—just 2 minutes! Watch and learn. (Sorry, no college credit given).

Chainsaw artist, Luree Magee Chainsaw artist Luree Magee will stop in to demonstrate her sculpturing technique using one of man’s most delicate tools.

Seeing all these artists will surely put the younger set in a creative mode, so Pebble Hill will provide a variety of make-n-take craft projects.

The artists working at Pebble Hill on Pebble Hill Day will raffle and auction some of their work.

The exuberant, effervescent, debonair Don Sims will be emcee for a day.
