Great Decisions
Pebble Hill Plantation is hosting the Great Decisions discussion series again this fall. Eight weekly sessions provide you with unbiased information on the world’s most pressing issues. Topics and speakers change weekly; each speaker being an expert on the topic he/she is presenting. Students each receive a briefing book from the Foreign Policy Association that provides basic information on the weekly topics. Read the book, listen to the lecture, and feel really confident as you discuss these world shaking issues with your family and friends.
Professors from area universities and outstanding community leaders are the presenter/discussion leaders. Topics for 2010 include: Enhancing security through peacebuilding; Halting atrocities in Kenya; Transnational crime; China looks at the world; The global financial crisis and its effects; Europe’s ‘far east;' The US and the Persian Gulf; and The special envoy in American foreign policy.
Meetings are scheduled for Monday evenings, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Pebble Hill’s Uno Hill Barn, September 20 through November 8.
This program is limited to the first 25 applicants. Cost is $85 for the 8-week series. To register, contact Barbara Cohenour, 229-227-5382 or bcohenour@pebblehill.com.
