Great Decisions
Pebble Hill Plantation is hosting the Great Decisions discussion series in the fall of 2009. Eight weekly sessions provide you with unbiased information on the world’s most pressing problems. Topics and speakers change weekly; each speaker being an expert on the topic he/she is presenting.
Each student receives a briefing book from the Foreign Policy Association that provides basic information on the weekly topics. Read the book, listen to the lecture and you will feel really confident as you discuss these world shaking issues with your family and friends.
The topics for 2009 include: The U.S. and Rising Powers; Afghanistan and Pakistan; Energy and the Global Economy; The Arctic Age; Egypt: Key Ally in the Middle East; Global Food Crisis; Cuba on the Verge; Human Rights in a New Era: War for Peace? Professors from area universities and the business community are the presenters.
Meetings are scheduled for Monday evenings, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Pebble Hill's Uno Hill Barn, September 21 through November 9.
This program is limited to the first 25 applicants. $85 for the 8-week series
