CaraNew Events Manager Hired

Wallace Goodman, Director of Pebble Hill Plantation, announced this week the addition of Cara Dollinger as Events Manager for Pebble Hill.  Dollinger replaces Whitney White who held the position for 3 plus years and was recently promoted to Main House Manager.

Dollinger has a wealth of event experience serving as the Director of Sales for SouthWood Golf Club and SouthWood House and Cottages for almost 6 years.  She then joined the Honey Lake Plantation events team in December of 2011.  There she handled all the event bookings and was later in charge of the management and coordination of all corporate and social events.  Dollinger said, “I am excited to join the Pebble Hill Plantation team and continue to help carry on the wonderful reputation the plantation has built hosting events over the last 24 years.”

“Pebble Hill is pleased to have someone with Dollinger’s knowledge and passion for the event industry.  She will be an asset to Pebble Hill in our efforts to continue to grow wedding, corporate, and other special event business,” said Goodman.

Dollinger was born and reared in the Jacksonville Beaches area and came to Tallahassee for college and has remained in Tallahassee. She graduated from Florida State University in 2004.  Dollinger and her husband have one son, 8 month old Rhett.

Pebble Hill has a number of venues for special events.  In the past three years, the special event business has tripled at Pebble Hill Goodman said.  When asked why the business has been so good in recent years, Goodman continued, “We offer our clients world class service at reasonable rates at a truly memorable location.”  In addition to event venues, Pebble Hill has two venues for overnight lodging.

Pebble Hill Plantation was developed into a prime 20th century shooting plantation by the Hanna family of Cleveland, Ohio.  Elisabeth Ireland Poe, a Hanna granddaughter and the last family member to own the property, willed that the plantation become a museum at her death.  Pebble Hill has been open to the public since 1983.  The plantation grounds have been the backdrop for weddings and other special events since 1989.
