Florida's first lady visits pebble hill

Ann Scott, the wife of Florida Governor Rick Scott, spent the afternoon at Pebble Hill learning about our wonderful house museum and discussing our very successful docent-led tour program.

Ann is heading up a committee charged with restoring The Grove in downtown Tallahassee. The Georgian style structure stands next door to the Florida Governor’s mansion and will be opened as a public museum upon completion of the project. The Grove, an old plantation home, was constructed c.1830 by Richard Keith Call, who served twice as Territorial Governor of Florida.

Members of the PHP Museum staff enjoyed sharing information and ideas with Florida’s First Lady. We wish her the best and are looking forward to partnering with the new museum when reconstruction is completed.
