Parker's vault LectureLecture Group

On Monday evening, March 12, Pebble Hill patrons and docents gathered to learn about the treasures found in “Parker’s Vault.” Dorothy Cobb, art historian and silver expert, discussed the Early American coin silver, the British sterling flatware and stirrup cups, as well as the large group of silver mint julep cups found in the vault. Joe Harvard and Nick Bottka shared their knowledge of fine wine and liquor while explaining the significance of the bottles purchased by Mr. Poe.

“Parker’s Vault” remained closed, silent, and inaccessible for nearly 30 years. Its opening has caused quite a stir. The vault now provides a bit more history and a bit more understanding of Pansy and Parker Poe’s lifestyle. If you haven’t seen the exhibit “Parker’s Vault,” plan to visit Pebble hill soon.
