This section of our website is dedicated to telling our story through the words and photos of people who were here before Miss Pansy’s death in 1978.

William  J. Furze (1885-1979) left the village of Tregony, Cornwall, England as a teenager to seek his fortune in America. He lived in Cleveland, Ohio and worked as a fit and finish carpenter in that city for many years with his wife, building his own house there, and later his retirement house in Florida. In the mid-1930s, Bill traveled with his 'gang' of carpenters from Cleveland to work on what they knew as the Harvey Plantation (Pebble Hill). The owner and the architect of Pebble Hill were from Ohio also. Bill carried a camera with him, and took some photos of Georgia, which were found in his personal effects after he died.
